KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The foundation stone for the construction of worth $10 million water filtration plant has been laid in the Pul-i-Charkhi Prison, a statement from the US embassy in Kabul said on Monday.

Interior Minister Wais Barmak and US Ambassador John Bass laid the foundation stone for the plant which will be completed in one year period, the statement said.

“The project is another milestone in the 12-year-old partnership of US and Afghanistaninfo-icon to improve the infrastructure facility for the prisons. The US will help Afghanistan to upgrade and construct modern prisons,” the US envoy said.
