FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): Taliban insurgents have attacked the capital of western Farah province, overrunning the 3rd police district. Clashes are still ongoing.
Eyewitnesses told Pajhwok Afghan News the militants staged attacks on the provincial capital from four directions. Heavy and light weapons fire could be heard in the city.
A resident, who wished to go unnamed, said the rebels had captured the 3rd police district and stormed the intelligence department. Helicopters are targeting the assailants.
