Ghani inaugurates electricity sub-station, meeting hall in Logar visit

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on Tuesday traveled to central Logar province and inaugurated the 220 Kilovolt electricity sub-station, a statement from Presidential Palace said.

Accompanied by high ranking government officials, the president held separate meetings with elders, ulemainfo-icon, womeninfo-icon, youth and delegations from different groups of societyinfo-icon. Ghani also inaugurated the meetings hall in Pul-i-Alam, the provincial capital.

Mohammad Daud Qazizada, secretary of the ministry of Energy and Water, briefed the officials and people regarding the 220 kilovolt sub-station projects and hailed the president special attention in this regard.

Qazizada also hailed the cooperation and efforts of local people in construction of this facility and extension of power supply.

After hearing the people, the president thanked them for highlighting the problems and challenges faced by the people.

Ghani said the current security situation in Logar was not acceptable and directed concerned authorities to chalk out a proper strategy for the security of Logar within two weeks.

The president acknowledged some issues and problems on the government part existed and immediate steps would be taken for its eradication.

He said the government was committed and had the authority to bring peace. “The opponents could not push us back from achieving peace and stability because peace is the dire demand of the people of Afghanistaninfo-icon.”

The president assured the construction of Kabul-Logar Raod and added the elections of Wolesi Jirgainfo-icon and District Councils were imminent and asked the people to fully participate in polls.
