4 civilians killed, 2 injured in Maidan Wardak bombing

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Four civilians were killed and two others wounded when a roadside bomb ripped through their vehicle in central Maidan Wardak province on Thursday.

Governor’s spokesman, Abdur Rahman Mangal, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the incident took place in Tangi Dara area of Sayedabad district this morning.

He said four people were killed and two others were wounded in the blast. Womeninfo-icon and children were among the dead and injured.

The injured were shifted to hospital, but Mangan had no information about their condition.

No group has so far claimed responsibility for the blast.

Separately, three people, including two children, were arrested in Sharana, the provincial capital, over allegedly planning to attack a security post with hand grenades.

Provincial deputy police chief, Col. Abdur Rauf Massoud, told Pajhwok that the detainees wanted to throw hand grenades into a security post.

“The Talibaninfo-icon militants wanted to disrupt Sharana’s security by explosions, but Afghan forces prevented them”, he added.

One of the children, a resident of Chahardi village of Sharana, said that the Taliban had given them hand grenades to attack a security post in the city.
