4 Taliban, 2 border police personnel killed in Kandahar clash

KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): Four Talibaninfo-icon militants and two border police personnel have been killed during a clash in the Spin Boldak district of southern Kandahar province, an official said on Thursday.

Zia Durrani, provincial police spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the insurgents stormed a border police check-post in the Rabat locality of the district late on Wednesday.

He said as result of the attack, two border policemen were killed and as many wounded. At least four of the attackers were killed and several others wounded in return fire from police.

A security official, who wished to go unnamed, said six border policemen had been killed, including the checkpoint’s commander. The Taliban have not yet commented on the incident.
