Iranian national arrested with 27kg narcotics in Farah

FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): Police in western Farah province have arrested an Iranian national with 27 kilograms of narcotics, an official said on Thursday.

Police Spokesman Mohibullah Muhib confirmed the incident and told Pajhwok Afghan News the Iranian national was arrested with 27 kilograms of narcotics and 940 grams of opium by personnel of counter-narcotics.

The contraband was concealed cleverly in the oil tanker, he added.

The narcotics were seized from Abdul Ghafar, an Iranian national in the Shaikh Abu Nasar Farahi Port where the smuggler wanted to transfer the illicit substance to Iran.

Iranian nationals are often arrested by security official in Abu Nasar Port with narcotics.
