Back-to-back blasts rock Jalalabad; no casualties

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Two back-to-back explosions rocked Jalalabad, the capital of eastern Nangarhar province, on Sunday, officials said.

The explosions occurred close to the Breshna Sherkat in the Nursery Farm area of the city, the governor’s spokesman said.

Attaullah Khogyani added the explosions did not cause any casualties. The IED blasts took place at about 11am.

Talibaninfo-icon and Islamic State militants have been active in the province bordering Pakistaninfo-icon’s lawless tribal region of Khyber.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility.
