KABUL (Pajhwok): Indian opener Lokesh Rahul is ready to keep wickets in the one-off Test match against Afghanistan
in the absence of Wriddhiman Saha.
Suffering from a thumb injury, Saha has been ruled out of the debut Test Afghanistan will play from June 14 in Bengaluru.
The Pioneer quoted Rahul as saying on Saturday: "I am always open to the challenge of dual responsibility. I have been training hard and will take up the role if the team demands."
Afghanistan’s squad for the historic encounter included five spinners -- Mohammad Nabi, Rashid Khan, Mujeebur Rahman, Zahir Khan and Hamza Kotak.
