5 police killed, 26 wounded in Humvee bombing

GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): Five policemen have been killed and 26 others, including the district chief, wounded as a result of a Humvee bomb attack in southern Ghazni province, an official said on Tuesday.

Mohammad Arif Noori, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the Maqor district building was hit by an explosives-rigged Humvee late on Monday night.

He said five policemen were killed and the district’s administrative chief – Hasibullah Maqori -- was wounded along with 26 others in the assault.

Naseer Ahmad Faqiri, a member of the provincial council, said clashes were still ongoing in the area, where militants from other district had gathered in a bid to seize Maqor.
