Pakistan army chief in Kabul for talks with Ghani

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Pakistaninfo-icon’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa arrived in Kabul on Tuesday morning for talks with President Ashraf Ghani, a source said.

During the day-long trip, Gen, Bajwa would discuss with Ghani the menace of terrorism, the Afghan peace process and Kabul-Islamabad relations.

Asif Ghafoor, Pakistan’s military spokesman, tweeted the COAS was visiting Kabul in response to an official invitation from Ghani.

He hoped the Afghan government, the US and NATOinfo-icon would be able to bring peace and stability to the war-torn country.
