Jalalabad explosion leaves child dead, 7 wounded

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): A 10-year-old boy was killed and seven others, including four children, were wounded as result of a bomb blast in eastern Nangarhar province on Wednesday, an official said.

Attaullah Khogyani, the governor’ spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the explosion occurred in 2nd police district in front of a shop at around 6:00am.

Without blaming anyone, the official said a 10-year boy was killed and seven others, including four children, were injured in the incident.

Shahidullah, giving an eyewitness account, said the injured included two brothers. He also confirmed the killing of a child.

Public Healthinfo-icon Department spokesman Inamullah Miakhel confirmed receiving seven injured people from the scene. Their health condition is said to be stable.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the blast.
