MAIMANA (Pajhwok): Four security personnel have been killed and two others injured after the Taliban attacked some areas in three districts of northwestern Faryab province and Maimana, the provincial capital, local official said on Monday.
Syed Masoud Yaqoubi, operational director of police, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the Taliban stormed security forces check-posts in Ghormach, Qaisar, Almar, Dawlatabad district and Maimana.
He said one soldier of the Special Police Forces killed in Sherin Tagab, one in Public Order Policeman in Almar district and two others including company commander killed in Qaisar district. Two more security personnel killed in Qaisar district.
The Taliban resumed fighting at times when ceasefire from the Taliban side ended on Monday. The three-day mutual truce was welcomed by the people and people took selfies with the Taliban and security forces in parts of the country.
