Taliban kidnap 2 road workers in Ghor

Jul 08, 2018 - 16:01

FEROZKOH (Pajhwok): Two workers of a road construction firm have been abducted by Talibaninfo-icon militants in central Ghorinfo-icon province, an official said Sunday.

Abdul Hai Khatibi, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok that Sheikh Omar, a Taliban commander, kidnapped the workers to Tlo Sarkh locality on Saturday.

A resident of Lashkar Rah village of Ferozkoh, the provincial capital, said the workers were kidnapped after their construction company failed to give the Taliban a promised money upon the project completion.

Another source quoted the Taliban as saying they would not release the workers until their firm paid the money.

However, Mullahinfo-icon Eid Gul, the village’s development council head, said they would discuss the issue with Taliban through tribal elders.

The Taliban have so far said nothing in this regard.
