India, South Korea eye joint projects in Afghanistan

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): India and South Korea have agreed to explore partnerships in rebuilding projects in Afghanistaninfo-icon, a media report said on Wednesday.

Prime Minister Modi and President Moon Jae, during their meeting on Tuesday, vowed to cooperate and engage for regional and global peace.

According to India Today, the two leaders said in a joint vision statement: "We recognise the value of this bilateral partnership and its contribution to peace, stability and security in our region.”

Released by the Ministry of Externalinfo-icon Affairs, the statement added: “We agreed to explore a tripartite partnership for development in third countries, beginning with capacity-building programmes in Afghanistan."

After the talks between the two leaders, Secretary East Preeti Saran told reporters concrete discussions were held on capacity-building programs that India and Korea would like to undertake in Afghanistan.
