Gen. Dostum’s homecoming delayed for few days

Jul 15, 2018 - 13:36

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The return of Vice-President Gen. Abdul Rashid Dostum from Turkey has been delayed for a few days, a government official revealed on Sunday.

Previously, Gen. Dostum was expected to return home on July 16 from Ankara, where 2nd Vice-President Sarwar Danish had met him last week.

But a credible government source confided to Pajhwok Afghan News that talks were still ongoing with Dostum. A final decision on his homecoming was yet to be taken, he said

The official, speaking on condition of anonymity, hoped the Uzbek strongman would come home soon if the negotiations conclude on a positive note.

A government delegation was working on the issue, the official said. Some days back, President Ghani had also hinted at Dostum’s return.
