PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): Scores of schools in central Logar province have reopened, paving the way for midterm exams to commence, an official said on Wednesday.

Educationinfo-icon Department spokesman Mohammad Shapoor Arab told Pajhwok Afghan News some schools had been closed after warnings from the Talibaninfo-icon.

“Around 90 closed schools in Pul-i-Alam and Mohammad Agha district reopened for students today and the midterm exams have begun,” he said.

In some parts of the province, the examination was unfinished when the schools were ordered closed. He asked families to send their children to school to appear in exams.

Abdul Samad, the student of 11th class at Mohammad Agha high school, said that their school reopened today and he appeared in the exams. “Some students are not aware about the reopening and remained absent.”

The Taliban acknowledged the reopening of schools. The group’s spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said they had tasked a delegation with reopening the schools.
