Taliban kill wife, daughter of uprising commander in Faryab

MAIMANA (Pajhwok): Talibaninfo-icon militants kidnapped family members of an uprising commander and killed his wife and a 15-year-old daughter in Kohistan district of northern Faryab province on Tuesday, an official said.

Police spokesman Abdul KarimYurash told Pajhwok Afghan News the mother and daughter were along with four others children from Lolash locality and later they were shot dead in Dara-i-Qarqol locality at around 8:00am on Tuesday morning.

He said the four children remained with the dead bodies of the mother and daughter in the area.

Influential figures have been trying to evacuate the dead bodies from the area, the police spokesman said.

Meanwhile, Kohistan district police chief Mohammad Nasir said the mother and daughter were shot dead by two Taliban commanders Mullahinfo-icon Rohullah and Makhdom Zabihullah.

However, Zabihullah rejected his involvement in the incident.

On the other hand, the slain woman’s husband, an uprising commander, Sayed Ali confirmed the incident and said the Taliban shot dead his 39-year-old wife and his 17-year-old daughter and but spared his six children aged one year to 12 years on the scene.
