19 Taliban, 4 Afghan soldiers killed in Farah battle

FARAH (Pajhwok): Nineteen Talibaninfo-icon militants and four Afghan army soldiers have been killed during a clash in the Bala Buluk district of western Farah province, officials said on Tuesday.
Governor’s spokesman Nasir Mehri told Pajhwok Afghan News another 32 insurgents were injured in the clash that broke out after the militants stormed Afghan National Army (ANA) posts in Dehzak village of the district late Monday night. Six ANA soldiers were wounded.
Meanwhile, a resident of the area, who wished go unnamed, told Pajhwok that nine Taliban dead bodies were shifted by influential figures from the area and five of the bodies could not be recognized.
However, Qari Yousuf Ahmadi, a Taliban spokesman, claimed 16 ANA soldiers and three Taliban fighters were killed in the nighttime assault. He said an ANA base along with weapons was captured in the attack. But the governor’s spokesman rejected his claims.
