Some Nangarhar officials keep vacancies hidden
JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Some local government offiicals in eastern Nangarhar province keep the vacant posts hidden in order get them filled with relatives or friends, the Independent Administrative Reform and Civil Services Commission (IARCSC) said on Tuesday.
IARCSC head for Nangarhar Hijratullah Ekhtyar, however, assured that in future he would get full information from departmental heads regarding vacant posts and resolve the existing problem.
He said 1,122 persons, including women, had been hired on different postions throught open competitions over the past six months.
He said earlier 375 posts of the third and fourth grade had been vacant but with support of the governor, 65 of the posts in seven government departments were announced and the remaining would be announced too.
He assured transparency and fairness in examination process and added the examiners were there to ensure transparency not to hire their relatives.
He recalled 550 individuals would be retired from the education department and a total of 1,400 posts in the department would be announced for newcomers.
He said still some officials were trying to hide vacances in their ministries in order to pave the way for their own relatives.
