MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): At least six civilians were killed and seven others wounded as a roadside bomb ripped through a vehicle in northern Balkh province on Wednesday.

Sholgar district police chief Syed Arif Agha told Pajhwok Afghan News the bomb had been planted by Talibaninfo-icon insurgents on the road to Qoch Qazal village.

He said six civilians were killed and seven others wounded at 7am when the car they were travelling in struck the roadside bomb. The injured evacuated to hospital.

The Taliban have so far said nothing about the bombing but government officials often blame them for such attacks.
