Ghani inaugurates major power project in Kapisa

MAHMOOD RAQI (Pajhwok): President Ashraf Ghani on Wednesday inaugurated a power sub-station benefitting 30,000 families in central Kapisa province, his office said.

Ghani inaugurated the Gul Bahar sub-station in the presence of local officials, elders and representatives in Mahmood Raqi, a statement from the Presidential Palace said.

The project worth $65.8 million provided by the United States Army Corps of Engineers would benefit 30,000 families, the statement added.

Meanwhile, De Afghanistaninfo-icon Breshna Shirkat said President Ghani inaugurated three power projects.

Previously, 11,100 families were supplied electricity and after the inauguration of the project, 30,000 more households would enjoy the facility.

The power utility added the sub-station would also supply electricity to Parwan, Panjsher and Nangarhar provinces.
