PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): A primary school for Afghan girls in northwestern Pakistaninfo-icon has been without elemental facilities, complain residents of a refugee camp.

Inmates of the Chakdara Afghan refugee camp urged the government and the UNHCR to provide accommodation, drinking water and electricity to the school.

Speaking to reporters, they said 340 girls were studying in the four-room school, which had no furniture. They said the students faced problems in the sizzling heat.

Established in 1983 by the UN refugee agency, the school has not been repaired or upgraded yet. They lamented school staff had been without salaries for several months.
