KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The Kabul-Ghazni-Bamyan highway in central Maidan Wardak province has been reopened after a day closure, officials said on Thursday.

Abdul Rahman Mangal, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News that National Security Advisor (NSA) Mohammad Hanif Atmar met the protesters delegation on Wednesday.

He said the NSA vowed all the promises would be done as soon as possible.

Gul Rahim, one of the protesters, said the highway was reopened but some residents still stayed in tents.

Sharif Hotak, a member of provincial council, said the NSA accepted two of their demands and the third one would be talked later.

He said Atmar vowed them that he would order educationinfo-icon minister about establishing university and the protesters delegation would soon meet President Ashraf Ghani.

He confirmed the highway was reopened but the tent would be available until their demands were met.
