KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Awami National Party leader Afrasiab Khattak has asked the Pakistani government to explain how its citizens have been killed in clashes in southern Ghazni province.

On Friday, the Talibaninfo-icon stormed Ghazni City and captured many areas, but Afghan defence officials said the security forces had beaten back the onslaught.

Around 500 people, including security forces and civilians, have suffered casualties during the four-day clashes in the strategic xity.

In a tweet, Khattak demanded a clarification of Pakistaninfo-icon’s policy toward Afghanistaninfo-icon. He wondered if the previous tactics were still being implemented.

“Pak govt needs to explain reports about the dead bodies of Pakistanis coming in from the war in Ghazni and Pak fighters getting arrested. Is it a repetition of the Jalalabad fiasco in 1989? Pakistan’s Afghan Policy is an unmitigated disaster. CHNGE IT,” he remarked.

Defence Minister Tariq Shah Bahrami told reporters on Monday that support from neighbouring countries led to the debacle of Ghazni. He, however, did not name any country.
