KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): UNICEF has expressed grave concern about the growing violence across Afghanistaninfo-icon, especially over the past week, where children continue to be the worst sufferers.

In a statement on Wednesday, the UNICEF executive director said: “Today's direct attack on an English language class in Kabul, which killed or critically injured dozens of children between the ages of 16 and 18, is deplorable.”

While stressing a stop to the violence, Henrietta H. Fore renewed her call for all parties to the conflict to respect humanitarian principles, and ensure the safety of all children. “Children are not, and must never be, the target of violence.”
