Hayat vows to rehabilitate Amanullah Khan’s mausoleum

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): The governor of eastern Nangarhar province has been striving to collect funds for the rehabilitation and renovation of Ghazi Amanullah Khan’s tomb and vowed to spent personal resources if unable to generate funds.

Hayatullah Hayat expressed the view while placing a wreath of flower on the tomb of former King Ghazi Amanullah Khan who brought independence to Afghanistaninfo-icon from the British Empire back in 1919.

Government and security officials from Nangarhar accompanied the governor on the occasion.

The governor after concluding the visit to the tomb of former king offered congratulations to the nation over the 99th anniversary of the Independence Day.

“I assure you that if Allah is willing the tomb of Ghazi Amanullah Khan would be rehabilitated in a way which the people and Nangarhar and Afghanistan desire. We are committed to rehabilitate the tomb and its surrounding areas on personal expense,” vowed Hayat.

Different events to celebrate the 99th Independence Day had been arranged last night in Nangarhar.
