FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): Some residents of western Farah province have complained against the high price of ice and alleged there was no authority to control its price.

Ahmad Musa, the resident of Farah City, told Pajhwok Afghan News the price of one kilogram ice reached to 20 afghanis and even more during these days.

“There is no electricity in Farah and the residents buy ice to handle with 50c hot summer,” he said.

“Despite the fact that ice is one of the basic needs of the people during summer and there was no specific source to control its price,” he said.

Demand for ice has surge during summer, the factory owner send ice to Heart and Nimroz which caused the decline of ice in Farah.

Haji Ghulam, the resident of Farah City, said one has wait in queue for ice one kilogram of which is sold against 20 afghanis.

Farah is situated in western part of the country and the temperature surges up to 51c during summer.
