KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): A high level British security delegation led by defense secretary Gavin Williamson arrived on a surprise visit in Kabul yesterday and met with the newly appointed national security advisor Dr. Hamdullah Mohib.

“A complete peace can be sensed in the UK streets and on roads only when there is peace in the streets of Afghanistaninfo-icon,” Williamson was quoted as saying in talks with Mohib in a statement issued from the Afghanistan National Security Council (NSC) office in Kabul on Thursday.

The two sides discussed warfare preparations and capabilities of the Afghan security forces in the ongoing war against terrorism, the statement said.

Williamson praised the sacrifices of the Afghan security forces in the fight against terrorism and assured of his country’s continued cooperation in this regard.

He said the UK was trying to strengthen the capabilities and skills of the Afghan security forces particularly the Afghan Air Force. He said his country was ready to help equip the Afghan forces with advanced medical facilities.

NSA Mohib, who received Williamson, said the Kabul administration was committed to bringing peace and stability to the country in order to save the coming generations from inheriting the conflict.

He said every possible way and opportunity would be availed for ending the war and bloodshed in the county.

Mohib briefly shared the Afghan government’s programs about strengthening the abilities of the Afghan security forces and the air force.
