Sep 02, 2018 - 17:52

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Two Pakistani nationals affiliated with Daesh or so-called Islamic State (IS) group have joined the peace process in eastern Nangarhar province, the spy network said Sunday.

The surrounding IS rebels have also brought their families and are now living at the National Directorate of Security (NDSinfo-icon) department.

Naqibulllah, one of the former Daesh member, told media persons that he joined the group four years back under Pakistani Talibaninfo-icon leader Hafiz Saeed leadership and had since been operating against the government across the province.

He said besides monthly salaries, they received other facilities like weapons and ammunition.

Governor’s spokesman Attaullah Khogynai named the surrendering Daesh fighters as Sididiqullah and Sajjad, residents of the Orakzai tribal region of Pakistaninfo-icon.
