11 Taliban killed in Baghlan clash

PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): Eleven Talibaninfo-icon have been killed and some security forces and the Taliban injured during a clash in the Nahrin district of northern Baghlan province, an official said on Tuesday.

Police Chief Brig. Gen. Ekramuddin Sarai told Pajhwok Afghan News the Taliban attacked the district bazaar and some areas on Monday night.

Eleven Taliban were killed and 16 others injured in the overnight attack that was beaten back by security forces.

Mohammad Hakem, the resident of Zadran area of Nahrin district, said five civilians, including a woman, have been injured in the attack while one local upraising fighter was also killed.

The Taliban have not commented about the clash in Nahrin.
