Samangan flood affected families receive aid

AIBAK (Pajhwok): Afghanistaninfo-icon Natural Disaster Management Authority (ANDMA) on Tuesday distributed 26 tons of rice to 520 flood affected families in northern Samangan province.

Rajab Ali Yousufi, the provincial ANDMA head, told Pajhwok Afghan News that they distributed 50 kilograms of rice to each flood affected family.

These families belong to 11 villages of Aibak village in the capital of the province and their agricultural products were destroyed by flash floods early this year, he said.

He said 20 tons of the rice was part of the China’s 100 tons rice aid to Samangan province.

Mohammad Azad, a resident of Sufi village of Aibak city who benefited from the aid, thanked the donor and said some other organizations in the past also assisted flood affected people in the province.
