8 Afghan ambassadors, 16 MoFA officials retire

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): President Ashraf Ghani has approved the retirement of eight Afghan ambassadors and 16 officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), the ministry said on Monday.

A MoFA statement said the retirement of these officials had been suggested by the ministry and approved by the president.

Ambassadors of Afghanistaninfo-icon in Kuwait, Qatar, Iran, Russia, Turkey, Greece, Germany, Spain and Consulate General in Peshawar, Pakistaninfo-icon had been declared retired in line with the law.

In addition, 16 MoFA officials on completing their period of service have retired subsequently.

The ministry hailed services of the retiring officials and wished them all the best in their future engagements.

The ministry said it was committed to hiring professional and educated individuals to strengthen Afghanistan’s diplomacy.

Earlier, a government source said President Ghani had dismissed these envoys but high ranking officials did not confirm it.
