To a question about posts and bases falling to the rebels in Baghlan provinces, Javid said in Baghlan, it should be clear that ANDSF checkposts or bases had never fallen to the enemy.

“Sometimes due to pressure and for better responding and fighting against enemy, there is tactical withdrawal; but it doesn’t mean that base is fallen to the enemy.”

He said Afghan Air Forces carried out air strikes in Baghlan province, inflicting heavy causalities to enemy and killed Mullahinfo-icon Saifuddin, the Taliban shadow district governor in Burka district along his eight militants.

About reports that a number of checkposts have fallen to the enemy in Sar-i Pul province, he said the Afghan forces had withdrawn from their check posts in Sari Pul.

He said additional reinforcement from Jawzjan province had reached Sari Pul to bring the situation under control with all strength.

He confirmed ANA casualties in last night clash with Taliban militants in Daimirdad district of central Maidan Wardak province, but provided no figures.

There were reports that 68 ANA troops killed in Daimirdad after Taliban forces stormed the district police headquarters.

“We have causalities (in Daimirdad), figures will be shared later. Ground forces have been deployed and they have the support of air forces. As a result of our airstrikes 54 Taliban fighters were killed.

Javid said Taliban and other terrorist groups could not make any problems except cultivating fear in people’s hearts.
