FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): Five people, including two pilots, were killed as an Afghan National Army (ANA) helicopter crashed in western Farah province, an official said on Saturday.
Dadullah Qane, a member of the provincial council, told Pajhwok Afghan News the crash took place in the Ranj village of Khak-i-Safid district on Friday night.
He said the chopper -- heading to Farah from the 207thZafar Military Corps -- went down due to technical problems. However, the public representative gave no further details.
On the other hand, the Taliban claimed shooting down the rotorcraft. Pajhwok tried to contact the 2nd brigade of the army based in Farah, but failed.
