KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Afghanistaninfo-icon’s wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Shahzad, known for his hard work, says he has at least three to four years of cricket left in him.

In an interview published on Wednesday, he said: “As long as I’m fit and good to go at the highest level, I will keep going.”

Speaking to Gulf News, the opener said he had not yet set any targets for himself. He felt he could play for another three to four years.

Famous for hitting long sixes, the stocky young man from Jalalabad promised: “If I feel I’m a burden on the team I will leave.

“I have the fire in me which I would say is more than some youngsters. I still play as if it is my first match,” remarked Shahzad.

He admitted good wicket-keepers were coming up and he would have to fight for his place in the playing 11. However, he is hopeful of proving his worth in the Asia Cup.
