KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): President Ashraf Ghani on Wednesday left for New Delhi for talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on bilateral ties and regional security situation.

Besides meeting Modi over lunch, Ghani’s office said, the visiting leaser will also address a civic reception, organised by the India Foundation, before flying out on Wednesday evening.

According to Indian media reports, Ghani may inform Modi on recent moves towards reconciliation with the Talibaninfo-icon. A second round of US-Taliban talks is expected in Doha.

The Afghan-India developmental partnership will also come up for discussion during Ghani’s day-long visit.

The president would answer questions from participants of the India Foundation meeting before returning home in the evening.
