GHAZNI (Pajhwok): One person was injured after unknown gunmen opened fire at participants of an Ashura gathering in the capital of southern Ghazni province on Thursday, police said
The mourners had gathered in front of a mosque in Amir Khan Qala area of Ghazni City before noon when a number of gunmen opened fire at them, a source in the provincial police headquarters said.
He said one person was wounded in the incident.
An eyewitness of the incident, Mohammad Sharif, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the Hazaras were mourning when they came under fire. He said police had cordoned off the area after the firing that injured one person.
No group has claimed reasonability for the attack.
