President wants Ghazni departments upgraded

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): President Ashraf Ghani on Monday ordered promotion of all Ghazni government departments to first grade in term of staff and said promises made with the people of the southern province should be honored.

A statement from the Presidential Palace said the president discussed the issue during a special meeting on Ghazni province in his office on Monday afternoon.

Defense Minister Tariq Shah Bahrami, Interior Minister Wais Ahmad Barmak and spymaster MasoumStanekzai presented their reports to President Ghani about Ghazni’s security situation.

The security bosses said the president-appointed delegation to the province had taken some measure fundamental steps to finance, equip and reconstruct security check-posts and military bases.

They assured the strength of security personnel in Ghazni had been boosted and also mentioned highways which faced security threats and preparations in this regard.

After them, the ministers of telecommunication and Technology, agricultureinfo-icon, rural development, home and urban development, the Independent Directorate of Local Governance chief,  deputy minister for public Healthinfo-icon, electricity chief, department of state affairs and the anti-corruption chief reported about distribution of wheat, drinking water, electricity, health and construction projects.

After hearing all their reports, President Ghani appreciated their work and ordered that Ghazni’s government departments should be promoted to first grade.

He said the people of Ghazni province suffered a lot and promises made with them should be implemented as soon as possible.
