British Embassy hosts Afghan folk music event

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The British Embassy in Kabul hosted a folk musical festival on Tuesday night with the hope to improve art and cultural relations between the two countries.

The festival at the Embassy premises was attended by singers from different tribes and presented the folk music of Afghanistaninfo-icon.

British Ambassador to Afghanistan Nicholas Kay said the purpose of arranging the event was to bring closer different cultures of Afghanistan and it served as an opportunity to strengthen different cultures.

“The display of these performances showed that strong cultures exist among different Afghan tribes and I personally feel happy that the British Embassy fully supports all musical events in Afghanistan,” he said.

Mohammad Rasoul Bawari, deputy information and cultural minister, said such events were beneficial in promotion of cultures of the two countries.
