Blast hits Khost candidate’s campaign vehicle, 4 injured

KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): A landmine blast ripped through the campaign vehicle of a Wolesi Jirgainfo-icon candidate in this capital city of southeastern Khost province on Friday, injuring four people including a child, police said.

The blast took place in Mujahid Square area of Khost City at about 10:30am on the campaign vehicle of Wolesi Jirga hopeful Abdul Nasir Haqmal, police officials said.

Officials at the civil hospital in Khost City confirmed receiving four injured people, with two in critical condition.

It was a second such attack on a parliamentary candidate. The previous attack took place on the campaign vehicle of another candidate Abdul Wali Ikhlas, a member of the Hezb-i-Islamiinfo-icon Afghanistaninfo-icon (HIA).
