KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Two Bangladeshi players have been barred from participation in the maiden edition of the Afghanistaninfo-icon Premier League (APL), a media report said on Sunday.

Soumya Sarkar and Mohammad Mithun -- picked up by Kandahar Knights for the tournament -- were denied no-objection certificates by the Bangladesh Cricket Board, Cricbuzz has reported.

However, their compatriot Taskin Ahmed has been allowed to participate in the five-team tournament, which got underway at the Sharjah International Cricket Stadium on Friday.

According to the board official, Taskin has been granted the NOC for other reasons. The fast bowler has been injured for a long time and “we want to see his condition.”

“We don’t want to let them play because of the national commitments and the two upcoming home-series,” BCB cricket operation chairman Akram Khan told Cricbuzz.
