QRCS funds treatment of children with heart defects

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Forty-five children with congenital heart defects will undergo cardiac catheterisation procedures at the Amiri Medical Complex in Kabul.

The procedures will cost $151,000 provided by the Qatar Red Crescent Societyinfo-icon (QRCS) as part of a programme called ‘Little Hearts’.

A statement from QRCS said the eight-day programme was being coordinated with the Afghan Red Crescent Society (ARCS) and the Ministry of Public Healthinfo-icon

Over the past three days, the statement said, a total of 13 successful catheterisation operations had been performed.

The patients receive gifts and toys from QRCS once they complete their post-procedure follow-up and leave hospital.
