KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Hundreds of residents protested against lack of election materials at polling stations in Qarabagh district of central Kabul province on Saturday, as authorities said the vote in the district would be held tomorrow (Sunday).

Mohammad Azim Dil Aqa, the Qarabagh administrative chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News in total 34 polling stations had been set up across the district for the parliamentary elections.

But election materials did not reach 31 of the polling stations except in Langarkhel, Jarjel and Akakhel localities, prompting the authorities to postpone the ballot until Sunday.

Dil Aqa said most of the district’s residents visited polling stations and waited till afternoon but election materials did not arrive.

Some people rallied against lack of the election materials and blocked the Kabul-Parwan highway for an hour.
