KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Election watchdog Transparent Election Foundation of Afghanistaninfo-icon (TEFA) on Sunday said its observers had found ‘an erasable pen’ at a polling station during recent parliamentary polls.

TEFA chief Mohammad Naeem Ayubzada told a gathering titled “findings of TEFA observers in Wolesi Jirgainfo-icon elections” in Kabul that their observers found the ink which becomes invisible when heated.

He said an observer of their institution found the pen at a polling station in Sarobi district of Kabul province and said the pen was different from other ones.

Ayubzada practically showed the media people how the ink goes invisible and said the pen might be used at other polling stations as well.

However, Abdul Aziz Ibrahimi, deputy Independent Election Commission (IECinfo-icon)’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News that so far the issue of erasable pen had not been formerly shared with the commission.

He urged TEFA observers to share reliable documents and evidence with the complaints commission.
