Nov 07, 2018 - 11:33

FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): At least seven police personnel manning a check-post have been killed and three others wounded as a result of Talibaninfo-icon attack in western Farah province, officials said on Wednesday.

Dadullah Qaneh, a member of provincial council, told Pajhwok Afghan News the militants attacked a security check-post in Dehyak locality of Farah City, the provincial capital late on Tuesday night.

Seven policemen were killed and three others wounded in the clash, he said, adding the rebels took away all the weapons and ammunition from the post.

But police spokesman Mohibullah Mohib said two security forces were killed and two others wounded in the overnight clash.

He said casualties also inflected on insurgents but he was unaware of the exact figures.

Taliban claimed capturing the check-post and said more than seven policemen were killed in the clash. The militants rejected their fighters’ casualties.
