KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has condemned the terrorist attack on gathering which commemorated the birth of Prophet Mohammad (SAW) and declared November 21 (Wednesday) as a national day of mourning, according to Presidential Palace on Tuesday.

Forty people were killed and 60 others injured in a blast which targeted a gathering that marked Eid Milad-u-Nabi (SAW) in capital Kabul on Tuesday evening.

“This is an attack on Islamic values, and follower of the prophet SAW. It is an attack on humanity” the president was quoted in a tweet as saying.

“The president declared tomorrow November 21, a national day of mourning following the horrendous attack. The national flag will be flown at half-mast all over Afghanistaninfo-icon and Afghan diplomatic missions abroad.”

Condemning the barbaric attack, the president sent his thoughts and condolences to the bereaved families of victims and instructed the authorities to use every mean for the treatment of those wounded.
