KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Afghan leg-spinner Mujeebur Rahman is all poised to prove his mettle during the KFC Big Bash, which is scheduled to begin in Australia on December 19.

The 17-year-old sensation will represent Brisbane Heat, whose coach Daniel Vettori says the experienced Afghan spinner would be unleashed on rival clubs during the tournament.

"Since he's arrived on the international scene he's performed wherever he's gone -- and he's gone everywhere. He's played in most comps around the worldinfo-icon and he's been highly successful," Vettori said.

In an interview, the coach said of Mujib: "He's got so much experience in such a short period of time that I think he really understands his game."

Pressure is not an issue for the spinner, who just gets on with things, particularly bowling at the Gabba, according to the former New Zealand cricketer. “That's the mentality that you need.”

Vettori noted Mujeeb’s his extra height tat should make him a difficult prospect on Australia's bouncy wickets. Height, action and bowling variety constituted a great plus for the Afghan, e said.

"His variations, while you won't see them as much on a wicket like the Gabba, his control of those variations set him apart."

Mujeeb has played in T20 competitions in Bangladesh, Pakistaninfo-icon and India, where he collected 14 wickets in 11 matches for Kings XI Punjab.
