2 detained for robbing Afghan trader of Rs2 millon

PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Two men have been arrested for robbing an Afghan trader of Rs2 million at gunpoint in the Nowshera district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

Police claimed recovering a million rupees and weapons used in the robbery from the detainees, who have confessed to other robberies during interrogation.

District Police Officer Mansoor Aman said Akbar Khan, an Afghan national, had been robbed on November 19 on his way home. Khan and one of his companions were injured in the incident.

Ali Khan and Lajbar, both currently living in Swabi district, are also said to be Afghan refugees. Police are conducting raids to arrest accomplices of the accused.
