JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Seventy complaints have been registered after the announcement of preliminary election result in eastern Nangarhar province, the Independent Electroal Complaint Commission (IECC) said on Thursday.

After the evaluation of these complatints many changes are expected in the final result of the election because many candidates not counted the votes they obtained, the complaints body believed.

IECC Head Shakaib Kamjoh told reporters here the prelimanry result of the Nangarhar Wolesi Jirgainfo-icon elections was unfair.

He said around 70 complaints had been received so far in connection to the preliminary results, adding there would be many changes in Nangarhar election result once these complaints have been addressed.

Some complaints had been registered in the provincial and some in the central IECC office in which besides unseccesful candidates winner canddiates also lodged complaints.

These complaints could be divided in three catagories, the first category is about increase and decrease in the numbers of votes, second is about ignoring vote count in some polling stations and the third is about entering wrong data in the database.

“Information regarding the Tewal poling station, 03 polling both differed in the system and the one shared with use earlier,” he said.

The Independent Election Commission (IECinfo-icon)Head Dr. Ahmad Daud Sediquzada said it were the inatial results, adding that candidates could registare complaints to the IECC if they have objection.

“Our responsibility is to conduct the election, send the facts and figures to the centre and the announcement of result was the central IEC responsibility,” he said.
