Saudi government delegation, businessmen visit Pakistan’s Gawadar Port

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): A high-level delegation from the government of Saudi Arab led by the energy, industry and natural resources ministries, including businessmen and investors, visited the Gawadar Port in Pakistaninfo-icon’s Balochistan province, according to a media report on Thursday.

The delegation headed by Ahmad Algamdi, adviser to the ministry of energy also included businessmen and members of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry from Saudi Arabia in a first high profile visit to the Port of Gawadar in Pakistani, which is a focal point of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project. 

During their visit, the delegation saw all potential investment opportunities available in the Gawadar Port, where the Pakistani officials who head the management of the port gave a special presentation displaying all integral parts of the Port as well as investment opportunities available in a special economic zones attached to the economic corridor.

The Saudi delegation was accompanied by Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf Saeed Al Malki.

Speaking on the occasion, Malki said that He was very happy today that the Saudi Delegation is visiting the port of Gawadar and seeing and experiencing all the wonderful investment opportunities it carries by their own eyes and this will enable them to take quick and better decisions for investment in near future.

He further said that, Gawadar and CPEC have a lot of featuresinfo-icon and opportunities for trade and investment that Saudi investors can take advantage of especially under the indicators that the government of Pakistan has promised to provide incentives and services for enhancing Saudi investment in the region.

He added that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is eager to invest in a Pakistani Chinese Economic Corridor and very soon the projects will be announced and initiated thereon.

Nawaf also added that the Saudi investment will contribute to promote economic stability in Pakistan as per earlier discussions and commitment between King Salman the Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman and the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan as Saudi Arabia and Pakistan are brotherly nations tied by people to people love and respect and bonding.
